Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is Canada’s regulatory authority that sets standards for energy efficiency in industrial and consumer products. It has established requirements for more than 50 separate categories of energy-using products manufactured, imported or sold in Canada. Suppliers of these products are required to prove their products comply with relevant regulations by having an independent certification body test their product against such standards.
Many energy-using products intended for sale or exportation to Canada must comply with NRCan energy efficiency levels. Failure to comply with the regulations enforced by NRCan is illegal.
TÜV SÜD is an NRCan accredited certification body. Our Energy Efficiency Verification services support the efforts of manufacturers, importers and retailers to achieve compliance with NRCan requirements. We are equipped to test and certify energy-using products to worldwide energy efficiency requirements and standards (including the United States’ ENERGY STAR), making us a single source for testing and certification services.
TÜV SÜD offers a comprehensive suite of testing, certification and advisory services on the regulations, standards and voluntary energy efficiency and performance programs applicable to all types of energy-using products.
