Product Packaging Testing

Full range of packaging testing services

Overview of Product packaging testing

Product packaging testing encompasses a range of tests designed to assess the suitability of packaging materials for use with a given product. Product packaging must be sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of transportation and environmental conditions, while remaining durable, safe and convenient for end users. Packaging testing provides assurance that your packaging will protect your product from damage or degradation during the transportation and distribution process. Packaging testing can also reduce your packaging costs by identifying appropriate protection levels and reducing the amount of packaging materials used.

Our Product Packaging Testing Services

We offer a full range of product packaging testing services that replicate the mechanical and climatic conditions that products may encounter during transportation and storage. We can determine a product’s susceptibility to damage so that an appropriate level of packaging protection is used. In addition to reducing the risk of damage to products in transit, we can provide advice on possible cost savings through the removal of excess or unnecessary packaging.

ISTA Packaging Testing

TÜV SÜD testing facilities have been accredited by the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) to certify that your packaging complies with current ISTA-Certified Packaging Testing.

Amazon Package Testing - The APASS Network

TÜV SÜD PSB is part of the Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier (APASS) Network is created to Amazon to help vendors and manufacturers obtain testing and certification for their product packaging. Our ISTA-certified lab is approved by Amazon to test and certify product packaging as Frustration-Free Packaging (FFP), Ships-In-Own-Container (SIOC) and Prep-Free Packaging (PFP) for Amazon and their third-party vendors. Amazon provides a list of companies and testing laboratories that develop and supply, or test and certify, packaging in line with Amazon's Packaging Guidelines.

UN Mark Certification - For Dangerous Goods

We can test and certify your packaging products to UN Mark requirements. More countries now demand that dangerous imported goods be packaged properly and safely to withstand harsh conditions during shipping and transportation. Testing are required to be carried out, before a UN certification mark can be issued.
